Griffin easily won the men’s title, garnering 378 points over the course of the season, including strong performances in Giant Slalom that significantly improved his world rankings. Jarvis edged out Taylor Rapley, 295 points to 265 points, to capture the Ladies’ JUCY New Zealand Alpine Cup title.
SSNZ Alpine Manager, James Lazor said “the series was a great incentive for the athletes. It definitely created a spirited competition within each race. We appreciate everything JUCY has done to support the New Zealand Alpine programme and for their commitment to our sport. I’d also like to recognise Kneissl for providing the trophies for the series winners.”
The JUCY NZ Alpine Cup started with the Japanese FIS races at Coronet Peak and finished at the ANC Finals at Mt Hutt. Points were awarded from each race based on the World Cup points system. The overall winners had the most accumulated points over the series.
Tim Alpe, JUCY CEO, said, “We are proud to be a partner of the Jucy NZ Alpine Cup. We are a home-grown brand that loves to support home-grown talent and we can’t wait to see Ben and Sarah cruising around in their JUCY wheels.”
